Building Communuity Assets

At Black Community Board (BCB), liberation is not a destination—it’s a process of reclaiming power, voice, and agency.

Our mission is to eliminate racial disparities by building pathways for personal and professional growth rooted in cultural pride,

self-determination, and systemic change.

We envision a future where Black Minnesotans thrive as fearless advocates, unbound by systemic barriers. Through leadership

development, community empowerment, and advocacy, BCB is laying the foundation for Black-led transformation.

Our Theory of Change and Transfortion:

We empower Black youth to lead, build wealth, and shape policy. Our work is not about short-term fixes—it’s about creating systems where Black Minnesotans thrive on their own terms.

Key Areas of Transformation

Our Programs

BCB drives transformation through:
Fellowship for Freedom Fighters – Leadership training & civic education.
Bridging the Gaps Series – Community discussions & empowerment.
Youth Research Task Force – Data-driven advocacy & accountability.
HBCU Scholarship Program – Higher education access for Twin Cities scholars.

We ARE is shifting power back to our communities—where leadership, economic success, and political influence are the norm, not the exception. We aren’t just envisioning liberation—we are building it now.
